Casares ist eines der typisch weißen andalusischen Dörfer mit einer Altstadt, die jeden Besucher unmittelbar in das Mittelalter zurückversetzt. Heutzutage unterscheidet man in Casares Pueblo und Casares Costa oder Playa, das ungefähr 15 Kilometer entfernt von der Altstadt liegt. Wahlweise kann man sich also für den Trubel am Strand oder Ruhe und Entspannung in der Sierra Bermeja mit ausgedehnter Waldlandschaften entscheiden. Aufgrund der erhöhten Position über dem Meerespiegel ( 435 Meter ) besitzen die meisten Immobilien einen Panorama Meerblick auf die Küste und Gibraltar sowie die Küste Afrikas.
