Marbella ist der bekannteste Urlaubsort an der Costa del Sol. Adel, Prominente und Stars mit viel Geld verwandelten den Ort, der 1960 kaum 10.000 Einwohner zählte, zu einer Großstadt mit über 140.000 Menschen. Der Anteil von internationalen Einwohnern des Zentrums der Costa del Sol beträgt rund 40 000, die heute in einem Gebiet leben, daß vom Jachthafen Puerto Banús im Westen und dem Sporthafen Cabopino im Osten reicht. Dies sind rund 27 Kilometer fast entlang der Küste an der die bekanntesten Wohngebiete wie Golden Meile, Sierra Blanca, Naguelles, Los Monteros, Marbesa bis hin zu Stadtgrenze nach Calahonda. In Marbella selbst besteht immer eine konstante Nachfrage nach Immobilien, speziell Villen rund um die Altstadt, im Zentrum Restaurants und Ladenlokale und Appartements direkt an der kilometerlangen Strandpromenade. Außer einem sehr exclusivem Nachtleben bietet die Ortschaft nun auch zahlreiche Restaurants, geführt von internationalen Sternenköchen und somit gilt Marbella zumindest momentan als Hochburg der Gastronomie in Spanien. Internationale Schulen sind einfach und bequem mit dem Fahrzeug oder dem Schulbusservice der einzelnen Schulen zu erreichen.
